♥Os Três Reis Magos, ou simplesmente Reis Magos na tradição Cristã,
são personagens que teriam visitado Jesus logo após o seu nascimento,
trazendo-lhe presentes. Foram mencionados apenas no Evangelho segundo
São Mateus, onde se afirma que teriam vindo do leste para venerar o
Cristo nascido Rei dos Judeus .
♥ Como três presentes foram registrados, diz-se tradicionalmente que tenham
sido três, embora Mateus não tenha especificado seu número.
Talvez fossem astrólogos ou astrônomos, pois, segundo consta,
viram uma estrela e foram, por isso, até a região onde nascera Jesus,
Chamado o Cristo.
♥Assim , os magos sabendo que se tratava do nascimento de um rei, foram ao
palácio do cruel rei Herodes em Jerusalém na Judéia. Perguntaram eles ao rei
sobre a criança. Este disse nada saber. Herodes ficou alarmado e sentiu-se
ameaçado, e pediu aos magos que, se o encontrassem, dissessem onde estava,
pois iria adorá-lo também, embora suas reais intenções fossem a de matá-lo.
Porém, os Magos foram advertidos em sonhos sobre Herodes,
e voltaram por caminho diferente ao da chegada.
♥Quando os magos chegaram ao local onde estava o menino, já havia se
Passado alguns dias, por causa da distância percorridas,
assim a tradição atribuiu à visitação dos Magos o dia 6 de janeiro.
♥A melhor descrição dos reis magos foi feita por São Beda, o Venerável
(673-735), que no seu tratado “Excerpta et Colletanea” assim relata:
•♥•♥Melquior era velho de setenta anos, de cabelos e barbas brancas,
tendo partido de Ur, terra dos Caldeus;
•♥•♥Gaspar era moço, de vinte anos, robusto e partira de uma distante região
montanhosa, perto do Mar Cáspio;
•♥•♥Baltasar era mouro, de barba cerrada e com quarenta anos, partira do
Golfo Pérsico, na Arábia Feliz.”.
•♥•♥Quanto a seus nomes, significam :
•♥•♥Gaspar - “Aquele que vai inspecionar”;
•♥•♥Melquior - “Meu Rei é Luz”;
•♥•♥Baltasar - “Deus manifesta o Rei”.
•♥•♥Como se pretendia dizer que representavam os reis de todo o mundo,
representando as três raças humanas existentes, em idades diferentes.
Assim, •♥•Melquior entregou-Lhe ouro em reconhecimento da realeza;
•♥•Gaspar, incenso em reconhecimento da divindade; e •♥•Baltasar, mirra em reconhecimento da humanidade.
•♥•♥Na antigüidade, o ouro era um presente para um rei,
•♥•♥o olíbano (incenso) para um sacerdote, representando a espiritualidade
•♥•♥a mirra, para um profeta (a mirra era usada para embalsamar corpos e, simbolicamente, representava a imortalidade).
•♥•♥Durante a Idade Média começa a devoção dos Reis Magos (e que são "batizados"),
tendo as suas relíquias sido transladadas no séc. VI desde Constantinopla
( Istambul) até Milão. •♥•Em 1164, como os três já eram venerados como santos,
estas foram colocadas na catedral de Colônia em Colônia (Alemanha), onde ainda
se encontram.
♥Devemos aos Magos a tradição de trocar presentes natal. Dos seus presentes dos
Magos surgiu essa tradição em celebração do nascimento de Jesus. Em diversos
países, como por exemplo os de língua espanhola, a principal troca de presentes
é feita não no Natal, mas no dia 6 de janeiro.
♥Em várias partes do mundo, há festas e celebrações em honra aos Magos.
Com o nome de Festa de Santo Reis há importantes manifestações culturais

•♥•♥ The Three Kings, or Magi simply in the Christian tradition,
are characters who have visited Jesus after his birth,
bringing him gifts. Just been mentioned second the Gospel to
St. Matthew, which states that would have come from the east to worship
